
Maggie DeFrees
Lyrical, Contemporary, and Jazz

Maggie DeFrees, a native of Chester County, Pennsylvania, started dancing at the age of three, training in all styles of dance. Her path led her to Delaware Arts Conservatory, in Bear, Delaware, in ninth grade, where she began to perform more regionally. She has had the opportunity to travel to YAGP (Youth American Grand Prix) finals in 2017 with her contemporary company as well as receive many awards and recognitions as a tap company at places like NYCDA (New York City Dance Alliance). She has just graduated with a double major BA in Dance & a BFA in Theatre Design and Production (Scenic Design) at Shenandoah Conservatory. As a freshman, she was a co-leader for a student performance week at Shenandoah University, producing and choreographing a dance piece about the composer, Maurice Ravel. In. Maggie entered a choreography festival, and from there was selected to create more works for a Split Bill performance. She is excited to continue to create and work on the production side of dance!
